Embrace your mistakes

“Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Mistakes are inevitable. As soon as we can walk, we learn to trip; as soon as we run we learn to fall and  throughout our lives it’s impossible to avoid doing things wrong, despite our best intentions, whether they’re small or big, mistakes are part of life, we cant avoid them. What we can do, however, is stop ourselves from dwelling on them.

It might seem easier to completely give up and hide when you keep making the wrong choices and life starts to feel like a series of unfortunate events. We’ve all had the thought that by stopping all together we won’t get things wrong. But there’s another option, and it’s much easier than you’d think: turn your mistakes into advantages.

Here at Synergy Jewellery, this couldn’t be more true. When designing our new collection back on 2015 Clover was at a loss. Every idea she had ended up being discarded, leaving scribbles and doodles scrawled across her notebooks. Nothing felt quite right. Feeling stressed and hopeless, she was looking through a book for inspiration, when something caught her eye.

A small flower in her coloring book was strikingly similar to one of her doodles. After digging back through her piles of failed attempts, she found it, along with a vision for her newest design. Drawing it again, with a few tweaks, it all came together with perfect clarity. A few drafts later, she had the Synergy Zen Flower Bangle.

Little did she know that one of her mistakes would grow into one of Synergy’s bestsellers. It was the first item to sell through that season, introducing a whole new variety of people to the brand, and inspired many with it’s peaceful, mindful qualities, and it had been buried under failed attempts all along!

So, next time you make a mistake, don’t panic. Instead, embrace it. After all, you never know what could happen because of it.

Maybe there is no such thing as a mistake? How have you turned negative situations into a positive one?

Find Your Chakra

Which Chakra do you need in your life?

Derived from the word ‘Wheel’, Chakras are considered to be the seven centres of spiritual awareness in our bodies. They represent the powerhouses of our energy, which can be recharged and each have unique uses. Commonly used in practices such as yoga and meditation, Chakras help teach us the importance of mindfulness, therefore enhancing our well being.

By integrating the use of Chakras into your day to day life, you connect your physical body to your mental body. Each of the seven Chakras help us interpret different values, and help to each ease things that can block our positive thinking, such as stress, worry and fear.

Which Chakra do you need in your life?

Violet Chakra: I Understand

Typically connected to the crown of the head, the Violet Chakra is believed to help us understand the strange, yet beautiful, ways in which life works. Sometimes it can be hard for us to remember that everything happens for a reason and we get lost on our journey through life. Wear Synergy’s Violet Chakra necklace to feel calm and serene when facing life’s challenges, with an understanding and appreciation for the weird and wonderful life you lead.

Purple Chakra: I See

The Purple Chakra, representing the energy centre behind our eyes, amplifies our inner wisdom and intuition of the world around us. Perfect for times when you need to trust yourself and the way you perceive things, Synergy’s Purple Chakra necklace will motivate you, keep you focused, and inspire your inner creativity.

Turquoise Chakra: I Speak

Connected to our shoulders, the Turquoise Chakra is linked to communication, both with our mouths and our hands. Not only does this Chakra encourage us to be honest and to share our ideas with the world, it also promotes showing how we feel by being adventurous, loyal and kind to those around us. Find the confidence to speak up for what you believe in with Synergy’s Turquoise Chakra necklace.

Green Chakra: I Love

We fall in love with our hearts, which makes the Green Chakra such an important one. Centred around the place holding our deepest desires, feelings and bonds with others, this Chakra strengthens our spiritual strength through our compassion and kindness towards others. To love is to open ourselves up to others, exposing the deepest parts of our beings, and we couldn’t do this without having a big heart and a strong connection with our true essence. By wearing Synergy’s Green Chakra necklace, you heighten the spectacular feelings of love, warmth, joy and self-love.

Yellow Chakra: I Do

The colour yellow acts as a beacon, drawing others to your confidence and boldness. Empower yourself with Synergy’s Yellow Chakra necklace by telling the world that you’re responsible and reliable: you have the power to chose. This Chakra gives you the willpower to meet any challenges you face, whether it’s to do with your work life or personal life.

Orange Chakra: I Feel

This Chakra is all about your body and your physical wellbeing as well as your spiritual awareness. Orange energy balances us, helping us to grow and develop in both our minds and physically. Try out Synergy’s Orange Chakra necklace to connect your inner voice with the outside world and bring a positive nurturing of yourself.

Red Chakra: I Am

Bring passion, determination and fun into your life with Synergy’s Red Chakra necklace. The Red Chakra, known as the root of our spiritual being, helps us to set clear goals in life with the powerful colour strengthening your self-assurance and propelling you forwards. This Chakra is perfect for those who need some excitement in their lives, and are also persistent in grabbing what they want from life.

A Glass Half Full

Glass half full

“Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If someone puts you down or criticises you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.”

Leah LaBelle

We’ve all been asked the question: when a glass is filled halfway with water, is it half full, or half empty? What people forget to mention, is how to make the glass seem half full all the time, even when we’re feeling painfully pessimistic.

There are times when life decides to throw problems in our faces, and it can be almost impossible to try and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Whether you’re having a bad day, bad week, bad month, or even a bad year, it’s important to learn how to train your mind to focus on the positives. Despite how dire a situation may seem, it’s inevitable that there is always something good nearby.

You never know when an opportunity may present itself, or when something amazing is lurking round the corner; that’s what you need to keep in mind when times are hard. After all, bigger and better things are born from the remnants of our troubles.

Here at Synergy Jewellery, this couldn’t be closer to the truth. Our founder, Clover Norton, was inspired to set up her own business after going through a tough time. Whilst it would’ve been easy to bask in self-pity and sit around waiting for things to get better, she turned misfortune into a message.

In order to keep that glass half full, Clover knew she had to make a change. So, she posted special words around her house, little words with wonderful meanings, so that whenever she passed them, she could stop to read them and remember the beautiful things that life has to offer. By doing this, she kept her spirits high and word by word, began to train herself into always seeing the bright side of a situation.

Of course, Clover knew she needed to help others through their own struggles. But how? With a knack for business and experience in the fashion industry, there was only one real option: Jewellery. This was when the words and meanings plastered around her house came into mind and she spotted an opportunity. She knew that by designing jewellery with special words engraved on them, she could one by one empower and inspire women across the country.

Synergy Jewellery offers a range of necklaces, bracelets and rings with individual meanings behind each piece. By wearing a piece of our jewellery, you carry around a word that you can look at throughout the day, whenever you need a boost of positivity or a new perspective. So no matter what life throws at you, your glass will always be half full.

Which piece of Synergy Jewellery will you be wearing?

Sisterhood of the travelling bracelets

Marilyn Monroe

Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends.

Marilyn Monroe

We all love our friends. For better or for worse, they’re the people we can count on to share laughs, problems, experiences and memories.  You can find a friend in anyone, from your sister, to a college, to a complete stranger. Some friends we meet as children, we learn and grow alongside them; others we connect with immediately, and they brighten our lives with their sense of humour and kindness. The one thing they have in common, is they all bring joy, happiness and love into our world.

In the craziness of our lives, it’s easy to lose track of what’s important. When times get hard, we learn who our true friends are. The ones we rely on, the ones we go to for help. No matter how crazy their advice gets, or the trouble they get into themselves, you know that they care. Our friends bring us courage to face our problems, and for that we feel nothing but gratitude.

Why not show your friends how much they mean to you? Friendship bracelets have been a fashionable, yet meaningful way of showing appreciation for your best friends since childhood. Synergy believes in the importance of friendship,  so we’ve taken this idea and intergrated it into adulthood. Everyone’s been loving this concept, spreading the love to friends across the globe!

By wearing a friendship bracelet, you’re showing the rest of the world how much your friends mean to you. It’s important to remember to show our friends how special they are: giving them their own friendship bracelet acts as a constant reminder of your love and affection.

Our Sister Bracelet collection features gold, silver, and rose gold jewellery, each with a special affirmation engraved to make it a personal gift.

Our Gold Bracelet is engraved ‘Belief’. This is the perfect gift for the friend who teaches you to chase your dreams, and to never give up, even in the hardest of times.

Our Silver Bracelet is engraved ‘Love’. This is a wonderful gift for the friend who’s seen you at your worst, and picked you up from your lowest. They’re the friend who always has a kind word to say, and makes you feel as important as you are.

Our Rose Gold Bracelet is engraved ‘Happiness’. This is a beautiful gift for the friend who’s always up for a laugh, the one who knows how to appreciate the positive things in life. This person makes you feel happy in everything you do.

Go and show your friends how much they mean to you!

How was January for you?

Are we done yet January?

So how was January for you? If I had to choose my least favourite month of the year, January would be the hands down winner. For me, it is the bleakest month: That depressing, post –Christmas hangover lingers on and on and is made worse by weather that is at best, dull and grey and at worst, freezing and wet. And don’t get me started on the short days and lack of daylight. Colds, flu and winter bugs are usually doing the rounds and my energy and enthusiasm levels are at their lowest. January just does not inspire me and this explains why my new year’s resolutions in the past have always been doomed to fail.

So this year I haven’t fought for a car parking space at the leisure centre only to find that the class I wanted to do was full, or risked life and limb going for a cross-country run in the mud and rain. I haven’t picked up any self-help book, and I haven’t decluttered or tried to reorganise my kitchen cupboards yet. Instead, I have eased myself through January. I have been kind to myself and kept my expectations realistic for what is my most lethargic time of the year. January this year, has been about early nights, cosying up with my loved ones, catching up on the movies, box sets and books that I missed last year and generally looking after myself. I have spent some time setting myself my goals for the year- I have a list of negative habits that I want to work on changing and opportunities that I want to pursue but they don’t start in January because it is just not the right time for me.

My own experience has taught me that we can only make successful and permanent changes to our lives when we are really ready for them and that won’t necessarily coincide with the start of a new calendar year. For example, it was ApriI last year when I chose to change my eating habits and exercise more. At that time (and after a shocking reality check with the scales at the doctors) my mindset and motivation were totally in the right place and eight months later I am three and a half stone lighter and living a completely different lifestyle than before. It was early November when I realised that I just didn’t enjoy having a drink anymore, so I just stopped completely and apart from the mandatory glass of Prosecco over Christmas and New Year, I still don’t miss it in the slightest.

Don’t get me wrong, if you are reading this with new year’s resolutions still intact and working for you then I have total admiration and well done you! But if like many others, you have already fallen off the wagon spectacularly or otherwise, don’t sweat it, it’s only a bump in the road not abject failure. Just wait until you are in the right frame of mind to make that goal a reality and jump back in that saddle again – The magic doesn’t have to happen in January.
